Art at Heart is a place for budding creatives, aged 7-11, with a passion for art.

Workshop Details
All Full-day sessions begin at 9:00am and close at 4:00pm.
Half-day morning sessions run from 9:00am to 12:00pm.
Half-day afternoon sessions run from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.
All materials and equipment will be supplied and are included in the cost of the session.
If you are attending a full-day session, please bring your own packed lunch. Drinks and snacks will be provided (Please notify me of any allergies)
At the end of each session children will have created work to take home and enjoy sharing with family and friends!
Each workshop session can accommodate 10 children. Places will be given on a first come first served basis.
Sibling Discount
We offer a £15 discount for siblings attending the same full-day workshop, with the first child paying full price.
We offer a £5 discount for siblings attending the same half-day workshop, with the first child paying full price.
Please note: due to limitations with our payment system, this discount cannot be applied at checkout. Instead, it will be refunded on the day of the workshop.

Woodland Wonders
In this half-day workshop the children will learn some clay-work skills and techniques which will enable them to get the most out of their clay experience.
The children will explore the tiny creatures that live on the woodland floor, and children will create their own clay mini habitat, inspired by life around a toadstool. Each Woodland Wonder scene will be built on a wooden base to enable it to be taken home easily. – you might want to bring a shoebox to protect the artwork as you take it home after the workshop.

In this half-day workshop the children will look at some examples of Andy Wharhol’s portrait Pop Art The children will then use their own portraits create a piece of artwork in this style. Bold and impactful colours will work together - contrasting and blending to create a series of 4 different affects. Children will need to bring an A5 sized portrait (photo) of themselves or another person for this workshop. If you do not have printing facilities, these can be emailed to hripleyartatheart@outlook.org the day before.

Comic Craze & Doodle Days
In this full-day workshop the children will look at some examples of comic book art – particularly Pop Artist, Roy Lichtenstein. The children will then write their own short story and create a piece of comic strip artwork from this. Bold and impactful colours will work together with simple text in speech bubbles which will be incorporated into the artwork to create their story boards.
The children will also look at exciting examples of ‘Doodle Art’ created by a selection of artists. Each child will develop their own ‘Doodle Art’ style and use this to decorate some stationary objects such as plastic pencil cases, sketch books and folders.

About Helen
All sessions will be led by myself, Helen Ripley. I am a fully qualified and experienced teacher whose specialism is Art and Design.
I have been the Arts Lead Teacher at Molescroft Primary School for over 10 years and led the school to be awarded The Arts Mark Gold since 2018.
